I have been practicing yoga for five years. Ever since my first class, I fell in love with this prodigious practice; that is why I now call myself YogAra, and why I have been devoted to teaching yoga for over a year.
My mother tongue is Spanish, and I am committed to sharing the wisdom of yoga in my own language. I introduce my practice as “Yoga sin límites” (“No-boundaries yoga”), with the motto “Don’t let language limit your yoga practice”.
I am looking forward to improving my practice. I will be taking the 300-hour YTT soon. I am prepared for the next step.
I’d love to share YogaraFlow with you!

Maria’s yoga journey began early on in life, a practice shared and passed down from her mother. While yoga held a steady presence in her life, she did not develop a deep connection with the practice until an injury threatened her mobility. Forced to face the anxiety of the mind through the stillness of the body, Maria began to see the power of yoga and mindfulness. This led to study of yogic texts, philosophy, a retreat in India and ultimately her first 200-hour teacher training. As a teacher, Maria continues to pursue deeper knowledge of the mind and body through texts, trainings, working with students and inspiring teachers.
And I have attached a photo… it’s not a yoga photo so let me know if you want something different but it sounded like you wanted more of a headshot.
Veronica deSoyza is an E-RYT and an LMT. She is a former Broadway dancer/singer/aerialist. She has been practicing Yoga for over 20 yrs and teaching for 14yrs. Her certifications include Kundalini, Vinyasa, and AIReal Yoga. She has led Kirtan workshops and teacher trainings in Vinyasa and AIReal Yoga. She has been inspired by teachers such as Brian Kest, Seane Corn, Ira Rosen(Govindas), Baron Baptiste, Yogi Bajan, BKS Iyengar, and Lea Kraemer, to name a few.
Veronica discovered Yoga while honing a career in the performing arts. Her practice started off as just another way to move her body through space. She was obsessed with movement. Dancing gave her so much joy for so many years and here was one more way to find ecstatic movement on a daily basis. It wasn’t until years later that she discovered what a vital role Yoga was playing in her mental and spiritual health and evolution. Yoga became her church. It was where I went to find peace of mind, to seek higher purpose, and to connect deeply with community.Yoga has helped her live truthfully with passion and compassion. With yoga as my foundation, she was able to launch her career as a dancer, singer, and aerialist into success. There is no greater path for her now than to share her joy and success with others.
She believes that yoga is our way back to community. It is our way back to understanding our connection to all life around us, way beyond our physical realm. It's a way of really knowing who we are, discovering our full potential, and understanding the power we hold to heal ourselves and our world.
I fell in love on the mat after taking my first Vinyasa class at Sonic Yoga NYC. While working as a professional dancer, singer, actor and struggling to find my balance in health, I found the link between Yoga and Ayurveda, a complete integral practice and lifestyle that has given me a sense of empowerment daily.
My classes are a direct reflection of my passion to offer a complete experience in the practice that brings people closer to themselves and their bodies. While always teaching through an Ayurvedic lens, I love combining a strong emphasis on pranayama (breath), asana (posture), detoxification, deep relaxation, meditation, and the healing vibration of music. Let's keep gathering together to create the space for releasing stress, expressing balance and allowing the body to heal itself, so the mind can follow. Breathe. Feel. Surrender. Practice. LOVE.
Carrie holds a 200 hr teaching certification in Vinyasa Yoga from Sonic Yoga NYC. She then moved to Los Angeles and through 2 additional years of study and practice earned a 200 hr Yoga & Ayurveda teaching Certificate, as well as a 300 hr Advanced Yoga and Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor Certification through Dancing Shiva Yoga & Ayurveda. She currently has over 2500 hours of teaching experience and can be found teaching public classes in Los Angeles, as well as workshops and retreats internationally.
Holly Pendergast earned her 200-hour RYT certification in 2015. Her study of movement and proprioception began at age three when she started dance. She studied ballet and contemporary dance into adulthood which ultimately led her to yoga.
Yoga has served Holly as a safe place to learn, restore and heal. Yoga is where she gained the muscles to practice self-compassion and better the relationship she has with herself. When she teaches, her goal is to create a quiet space to reset the nervous system to tune into the subtleness of intuition. She is inspired by self-study, creative sequencing, and a mind-body emersion in a movement practice. Her priority is to encourage a safe, strong, and sustainable practice to perpetuate a conscious and intentional lifestyle.
Initially, I came to my mat in art school as a simple way to calm my mind from anxiety and uncertainty. What I was surprised to find was an entire universe of awakening, from an unthawing of movement and breath, strengthening and aligning my physical body, and ultimately a continued fine-tuning of the subtle body and energetics of my mind. The working through Samskaras, the Sanskrit word and idea of “mental impressions and psychological imprints” is what I’m interested in offering to my students. What you’ve come into the world with and onto your mat with has a chance of transformation everyday just by incremental shifts in continued showing up.
After intense study for about ten years in various methods, I felt called to become certified to teach. I completed my 200-hour training at Kula Yoga Projects in New York City, led by my incredible teachers Nikki Viella, Schuyler Grant, Nikki Costello and Erin Dudley. As well as study in various methods of meditation, from workshops in meta-meditation at Om Yoga in New York, to training in transcendental meditation through the David Lynch Foundation. My intention with every class is to wake up dual-action in the body with clear and intelligent alignment, to keep the practitioner safe in the uncovering of fresh territory within the mind, body and the changing relationship of the two through the elixir of deepened breath, and most important, to leave my class shining!

JC (Johnny Chang) grew up in Southern California and is a parkour and meditation instructor at Kinship. He practices vipassana meditation in the traditional Buddhist theravadan style as practiced by the Venerable Ajaan Chah of the Thai Forest tradition. His primary teacher is Michael Zittel, who received his training through Noah Levine as well as Shinzen Young. Concerning movement, JC was first introduced to the concepts surrounding parkour/freerunning as a child when he jumped atop his first small ledge and subsequently jumped off of it. He was first introduced to the terms "parkour/freerunning" as a teenager, when he and his friends decided that it would be much cooler to jump onto (and off of) things with other people. Thus began his journey into the movement arts, leading to his Lvl II Instructor certification in 2014, through the WFPF (World Freerunning and Parkour Federation). When he isn't climbing walls or teaching others how to do the same, JC likes to spend his time practicing meditation, drawing, singing, songwriting, and doing other artsy type stuffs. Obviously, he would like to think of himself as an artist of sorts. Please humor him.

I originally came to yoga as an additional form of exercise. After practicing for a few weeks, I noticed a mental and emotional shift in my life and a positive change in the way I interacted with the world around me. Yoga quickly became part of my lifestyle and I am grateful for the ability to share my passion and knowledge as an instructor. I recognize the tremendous benefits that a regular yoga practice brings into one's life - I encourage everyone to give it a try. My focus while teaching is to provide a safe, judgement-free zone where both new and seasoned yogis may develop a stronger connection with their mind, body, and spirit - on and off the mat. In addition to yoga, I am a certified Reiki practitioner, Vibrational Sound Therapist, lover of nature and music.
